Upper Cervical care focuses on the area of the spine from the base of the skull down to the third cervical. This area is home to the first and second vertebrae known as the Atlas and Axis. These two vertebrae are the most freely movable bones of the spine and they provide protection for the lower Brain-stem. The Brainstem is a vital nerve connection between the brain and the body and includes the medulla, pons, midbrain, cranial nerves and supportive arteries & veins. Everyday acts of living whether they be physical events, chemical exposures or emotional stress can cause the Atlas and Axis bones to become misaligned. When they misalign they put direct pressure on the vital "brain-stem" connection.
